It took a few hours this past week to develop the trip itinerary. As usual we are trying to cover too much territory in too little time. However, the plan worked out to 55 days and 8930 miles. There are 11 rest days, 4 days on the ferries, and 40 driving days. The average miles per driving day is 223 which means about 6 hours drive time. If we get away by 8 am we will arrive at our destination around 2-3 pm. This leaves lots of time to set up camp, look around, shop, etc. It also means little need to make reservations for campsites. This gives us a lot more flexibility in where we stay. The two maps below show the outbound and return routes. Outbound Route - gap in route shows travel by ferry
