We drove 330 miles today, mostly on US70, known in Arizona as the Old West Highway. Tonight we are in Apache Junction, one of the eastern Phoenix suburbs. The Old West Highway is a spectacular route through several mountain ranges each one more interesting than the last. It is much more exciting than taking the Interstate. The weather today was near perfect rising from the low 30s to 75. The local weatherman on the TV news was bragging that today this area has the best weather anywhere in the USA. The photo was taken in the Gonzales Pass just west of Superior.
