We followed the Great River Road beside the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers for almost the entire day. The most interesting place was Nauvoo. It's the town built by Joseph Smith, founder of Latter Day Saints. Joseph was murdered in this town in 1844 causing most of the town's people to move to Utah. According to the Great River Road markers this is one of the most accurately restored historic towns in the nation. The photo shows the 1842 Red Brick Store. Tonight we are at a KOA and expecting a lot of rain.
